I joined the Collins Group the summer after my freshman year. I've always been interested in protecting and preserving the environment and Green Chemistry research provides an opportunity to do just that. This past semester I have been working with Jesse Miller on the nitration of phenols with Fe-TAML catalysts, which is a greener alternative to current nitration methods.
